Education Specialist

About the Role: Area Residential Care is seeking a full-time Education Specialist to join our team. As an Education Specialist, the selected candidate will be responsible for all agency training to prepare our staff to be successful in their roles. The Education Specialist is constantly researching new training techniques and provides on-the-job feedback to both new and veteran staff. Other Education Specialist job duties will include:

  • Developing and administering training schedules to staff;

  • Providing pre-service training to new staff and updated training to all staff;

  • Going to different residential homes and providing direct training and feedback;

  • Becoming a certified CPR/First Aid and Nonviolent Crises Intervention instructor;

  • Tracking staffs’ training records; and 

  • Assisting in the development and teaching of adaptive intervention techniques.


This position reports to the HR Director.
 

About you: Qualified applicants will have:

  • An Associate’s degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related human services field;

  • Professional communication and technical skills;

  • The ability to multi-task, direct, and train staff;

  • Evidence of success in working with adult learners; and 

  • A valid driver’s license to become an agency driver.

Highly qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related human services field. They will also have previous experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities. The hourly wage is determined by education and relevant work experience.

Pay: $18.61-$19.75
